A man appeared in court last week in connection with the killing of Kevin McKinley.

Lewis Wickenden, of Overy Street, Dartford, appeared via video link at Medway Magistrates Court charged with the unauthorsed possession of a firearm and ammunition.

He also faced a charge of assisting an offender and was committed to Maidstone Crown Court for a preliminary hearing on Friday.

Wickenden’s partner Michaela Sargeant, 24, has been charged with the murder of Mr McKinley. She will appear at Maidstone Crown Court on April 19 for a plea and case management hearing.

The 32-year-old father-of-three died after police were called to reports of a man with a gunshot wound in Overy Street. He was taken to Darent Valley Hospital but later died of his injuries.

A provisional trial date has been set for August 5. Wickenden and Sargeant are yet to enter a plea.
