Man saved by firefighters after Gravesend crash

Firefighters rescued a man in his 40s from a car following a crash in a busy Gravesend road yesterday morning.

Two fire engines were called to Valley Drive at 7.50am to reports of a crash between a Peugeot Partner van and a parked blue Mitsubishi Shogun.

It is thought the Shogun then collided with a parked white Vauxhall Corsa.

The road was closed by police in both directions as firefighters cut the man out of his car and paramedics treated him for chest injuries before taking him to Medway Maritime Hospital.
