Man talked down from bridge over A2

PUBLISHED: 09:05 28 August 2012

The A2 at Dartford Heath was closed on Saturday after a man was seen standing on the wrong side of the railings on a bridge.

Police persuaded him to come down and the man, said to be in his 20s, was taken away for medical assessment.

The A2 in both directions was closed from around 10.30am until 1pm.

Chief Inspector Martin Cunningham said: “We would like to thank all those drivers who were caught up in the tailbacks on this busy Bank Holiday weekend for their patience while we dealt with the situation as quickly as possible with no injuries being incurred.”
