Modern pentathlete Kate French talked about life as an athlete

AN Olympic hopeful thrilled pupils at her old school when she returned to talk about her career.

Modern pentathlete Kate French, from Meopham, who is hoping to compete in Rio de Janeiro in 2016, returned to her old school Cobham Hall, which she left in 2009.

She talked to students about the rigours of being an athlete as well as the rewards.

Deputy headmistress Sandra Coates-Smith said: “It was great for the girls to see the reality of what it is possible to achieve as a Cobham girl.”
