A new headteacher who played an “instrumental role” in school improvements has been appointed.

Parents of students at Meopham School, Wrotham Road, Meopham, were invited to meet the new Headteacher and discuss the future direction of the school.

Suzanne Dickinson, who is currently Deputy Headteacher, will replace Matthew Munro from August 2014.

Mr Munro said, “I am delighted with Mrs Dickinson’s appointment. School improvement is very much a team effort and she has played an instrumental role in the improvements we have made here.”

Meopham School, which is part of the Swale Academies Trust, has made rapid improvements over the last two years.

Trust Principal Jonathan Whitcombe said: “Mrs Dickinson has been an integral part and key driver in the improvement of teaching and learning and the raising of standards in the school.

“I am delighted that this appointment will ensure that there is continuity of leadership and a seamless transition as we move into next year.”

Mrs Dickinson spoke about her passion for leading teaching at the school, saying: “Securing high quality teaching and learning is at the core of everything we do. The focus on this must be relentless. Young people’s life chances depend on us getting this right.”
