The mayor has offered his seasons greetings

The Mayor of Gravesham Mick Wenban has issued a message to the people of Gravesend wishing them a happy Christmas and a happy new year.

A message from the mayor read:

This time of year reminds everybody of those less well off than themselves. As mayor I have the privilege of seeing the work that so many people and organisations do to help our community all year round.

It is a humbling experience but one that is full of hope and joy. No one could fail to be impressed by the selfless dedication of so many unsung heroes day after day. At this time of year and especially in these times they all deserve our support, our gratitude and, particularly, our generosity.

It is so important that we all support those who need it most and spare a thought for those less fortunate than ourselves. I wish everyone in Gravesham a very merry, peaceful and wonderful Christmas and a prosperous, happy and, more than ever, a generous New Year.
