Would-be life-savers can enrol on a week-long National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) being run by North West Kent College.

The qualification is the most awarded in the United Kingdom and is a recruitment requirement for anyone from lifeguard to leisure centre manager.

The £260 course is open to anyone over the age of 16. It runs from April 2 to April 7 with the assessment on the Sunday.
