PUBLISHED: 18:02 23 October 2012

Ten thousand pounds is being invested in New Ash Green to breathe new life into the village centre and encourage people to use the shops more.

The money comes from the Government’s new “Our Town First” scheme, that towns can apply to for funding.

On behalf of the New Ash Green Town Team, Cllr Cameron Clark said: “We are thrilled that our bid has been approved. We hope to use this grant money to help us support an exciting programme of events, improvements and marketing to raise the profile of the village centre and make it a more attractive place to visit.”
