New-look Ebbsfleet still seek first win

Big-spending Ebbsfleet United still await their first win in Conference South following a frustrating weekend for Steve Brown’s side.

They were denied victory at home by Maidenhead United yesterday despite taking an early lead through striker Michael Thalassitis, on loan from Stevenage. Goalkeeper Elvijs Putnins brought down Thalassitis and he dusted himself down to convert from the spot. But Maidenhead equalised just before half-time through Reece Tison-Lascaris.

Fleet pushed on for a second goal in the second half but could not get a winner.

Two days earlier they travelled to take on Eastbourne Borough, who have made a strong start to the season.

Chris Shepherd gave the home side an early lead but Ebbsfleet equalised ten minutes later thanks to Thalassitis.

The draws leave the Fleet 16th in the table with three points from four games ahead of a trip to Dorchester Town on Saturday
