Youngsters will have new equipment to play on in Gravesend after a local park had a makeover.

Woodlands Park was officially reopened by mayor Greta Goatley on Friday, with crowds of children keen to try out the new park for themselves.

More than £250,000 was invested into the park, which now has a new playground, refurbished toilets a 0.5mile walking trail and CCTV.

The playground works were finished earlier this year, in time for the summer holidays.

Cabinet member for tourism and youth, Jordan Meade: “The play equipment that has been added to Woodlands Park is a massive improvement.

“I’m delighted that thanks to funding from Cllr McGarrity, we’ve been able to add in the walking trail too, meaning Woodlands Park will be a place for the whole community to enjoy.”
