PANTO and television stars Laura Hamilton and David Spinx (pictured below) have also added their support to the appeal.
Not only are the two looking to donate toys, with Laura securing goodies from children's TV channel Nickelodeon, but they are also hoping to find time to visit Darent Valley and meet the children themselves.
Best known for his role as Keith Miller in EastEnders, Mr Spinx said: "The thing is that not only can they not go home for Christmas, they can't come to the Panto, so if they can't come to us the least we can do is come down and say Howdy Dowdy. He told the Reporter that whenever he does benefit appearances on television it is in aid of Great Ormond Street, so an appeal helping children is something he wholeheartedly supports. "I just hope the campaign is really successful. I often pulled to all parts of the country and so I am more than happy to support a local cause, particularly if it is in aid of children."
Laura Hamilton, a former Dartford Girls Grammar school pupil, also supported the appeal as she made a donation at the Civic Centre, Gravesend.
The 27-year-old said: "I'm quite closely affiliated with a charity called Reach (a charity dedicated to helping children with arm or hand deficiencies).
"Being a children's television presenter I love being able to give something to kids."
