Nominations open for local Gravesend heroes

PUBLISHED: 15:20 22 February 2013 | UPDATED: 15:20 22 February 2013

Sometimes people go over and beyond their call of duty in helping others.

Perhaps somebody did a spur of the moment action which had a big impact, or maybe they regularly volunteer.

Now Gravesham Council wants to honour local heroes who have made a special contribution in one way or another for their Pride in Gravesham awards.

The categories are for people who have made special contribution to the lives of young people, the lives of older people, the community, cultural diversity and understanding or a group that has made a special contribution to the community.

Winners will receive a trophy and love2shop vouchers. To nominate somebody, collect an application from the Civic Centre in Gravesend. The closing date is April 3.
