The free open day takes place on July 15

Would-be counsellors wondering how to get into the profession are being encouraged to come along to a free open day at a Northfleet charity this month.

Walk Tall, based in Lower Road provides youth and adult counselling, is hosting a free open day for anyone looking to jump into the world of therapy.

A spokesperson from charity said: “We train and qualify counsellors who then go on to work in the field of mental health, many of our counsellors remain with our charity and produce much needed therapeutic services to children and adults.”

Dr Ann Duke chief executive of the charity, said: “More adults are being attracted to profession, however counselling takes a very special kind of person and a lot of training.”

Counsellors will be on hand at the open day, which runs from 10am to 4pm, to answer any questions visitors may have.
