Pupils at Northfleet School for Girls celebrated their A-level results this morning.

Aaliyah Mathurin, 18, gained two distinctions in Performing Arts and scooped a B grade in Media.

She said: I have been a bag of nerves for days. I still feel sick and I’ve opened them now. I’m going to Chichester University to study Performing Arts. I found out I got in before I got to school because I went online, but I was still nervous. You never know. My family are really happy and I will be out celebrating this weekend.”

Kayleigh Hilbert, 18, who gained an A* in Health and Social Care, a B in Psychology and a B in Sociology, added: “I knew I had done well in Health and Social Care because I was told I could get a U in my exam and still end up with an A* because of my coursework. I’m going to study Psychology and Criminology at Brighton. I keep visiting and thinking ‘I can’t believe I’ll be living here soon.’ I’ll be celebrating with my parents, I haven’t even told them yet.”
