Northfleet School for Girls was buzzing about bees when the Pif Paf Bee Company came to perform “Honey”, a play taking its audience inside a giant beehive.

The show, staged in a mobile blackout theatre, took the year seven pupils inside a giant beehive.

“Honey” is sponsored by The Co-operative as part of its Plan Bee campaign to reverse the decline of the UK bee population.

Jane Lambert, from The Co-operative, said: “This performance has given the pupils a chance to learn a little more about the humble honeybee and exactly why they are so important.

“Hopefully we have inspired these young people to go home and encourage their families to grown flowers that will attract bees, or maybe to even keep a hive themselves.”
