Kent Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal collision in Dartford at 8.10am this morning.

It is reported that a collision occurred between a pedestrian, believed to be a man in his 80s, and a car on Park Road.

The man, who is thought to be from Dartford, was pronounced dead at the scene and next of kin have been informed.

The driver of the vehicle, a silver Volvo saloon, was taken to Darent Valley Hospital with minor injuries.

Det Sgt Scott Lynch, of the serious collision investigation unit at Kent Police, said: “I would urge anyone who witnessed the collision and has not yet spoken to an officer to get in touch.

“I would also ask anyone who saw the car or the man, who was described as using a walking stick and wearing a flat cap, prior to the collision to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Unit.”

The road has since been reopened and no arrests have been made.
