»A vomiting taxi fare dodger is wanted by police.

Detectives are keen to speak to a passer-by who may have seen a couple who refused to pay their taxi fare after the man became ill in the vehicle.

At around 12.30am on June 19, the 25-year-old taxi driver picked up the couple from West Street, Gravesend, heading to Valley Drive, but in Harmer Street he noticed the man was about to throw up.

The man told him to drive on, but was sick, so the driver stopped.

The passenger became abusive towards the driver, witnessed by a passer-by, and when a fare was asked for the couple refused and walked off.

Detective Constable Karen Mulroy, said: “When the taxi stopped, there was a build-up of traffic behind it so it is possible others witnessed what happened.”

The man was white, aged 20 to 25 and 5ft 7in. He had short, dark brown hair and wore black trousers and a white shirt.

If you have any information, call DC Mulroy on 01474 366516 or Kent Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
