Police seek offender after suspected Dartford bank robbery

Police have sealed off a bank in Dartford after receiving reports of a possible robbery this morning.

Five police cars, including a forensics team, were spotted outside the Co-operative Bank in Hythe Street this morning.

Kent Police said officers were looking for an offender in the surrounding area.

A spokesman said: “We were called at 10.23am today to the Co-operative Bank in Hythe Street, Dartford, to reports of a possible robbery.

“Officers are at the scene are conducting an area search for the offender.”

Kent Police stressed they do not think there was a weapon involved at this time.

A spokeswoman for the bank said: “We can confirm that there was an incident at our branch in Hythe Street today.

“No colleagues or customers were harmed, and we are supporting the police with their investigations. The branch is currently closed and will re-open as soon as possible.”
