More than 175 venues are vying for the title

Theatre-goers are being asked to have their say on the country’s most welcoming venue, and Gravesend’s Woodville Theatre is in the running.

Voting for the UK’s Most Welcoming Theatre competition has opened, with more than 175 venues all throwing their hats into the ring.

A dozen winners both regional and national will be announced on September 29, with the overall winner declared at the UK Theatre Awards at the Guildhall on October 15.

“This is an opportunity for our patrons to celebrate our wonderful Theatre,” said manager Mandy Hare.

“The Woodville is committed to working with the local community and it will continue to do so in the many years ahead, next year we’re celebrating our 50th anniversary, so that is another great reason to come on in and see what we’ve got to offer as well as get involved in the conversation around creativity in Gravesham and north Kent.

“Please give us a vote and let’s celebrate all things Woodville.”

Voting for the competition closes at 12pm on Tuesday, September 19.
