Ye Gads these children clearly have Christmas spirit!

Kindergarten and Junior School pupils at Gad's Hill, Higham, have donated a record number of presents to be sent to disadvantaged children this Christmas as part of a national charity drive.

The students, competing to collect the most through the three school houses, managed 300 boxes to help Operation Christmas Child.

Junior school headteacher Fiona Mcpherson said: "This collection clearly teaches our pupils about the importance of giving and not just receiving at Christmas, but in addition to that it makes them become even more aware of the world around them, of how other children live and how lucky we are to live in a country that is a safe place for a child to grow up."

Kindergarten pupils Louis Ellson, three, contributed 18 boxes of gifts.

He said: "I want some Ben 10 things for Christmas but some children in the world won't get presents, I am sending some presents to them
