Rise in children placed with adoptive families, say KCC

PUBLISHED: 11:55 08 January 2013

The number of children being placed with adoptive families has increased by nearly 60 per cent, according to Kent County Council.

From April 1 to December 31 last year, 108 children were placed with new families compared to 68 for the previous 12 months.

Seventy-seven children were also legally adopted in Kent between April and December 2012, compared to 70 for the previous 12 months.

Cllr Jenny Whittle said: “We have made great progress but we are seeing more and more children needing adoptive families and we still need more people to come forward.”
