A SCHOOL secretary is retiring from a primary school after 31 years in the job.

Linda Willis, 63, was presented with a certificate from Kent Country Council for her service at Fawkham Primary School, Valley Road, Fawkham, on Wednesday July 15.

A secretary at the school since February1978, Mrs Willis, who lives in Fawkham Village, said: "I am very sad to be leaving, it is such a wonderful school.

"The staff and children are all brilliant, I have enjoyed working with everyone."

Mrs Willis, who is leaving the post at the end of the term, was congratulated by the current head Dorinda Perry and previous heads in a special celebration in the school.

Mrs Perry said: "What can you say? She is a wonderful person and she shows total dedication to the job. She was loved by everyone and we all are very sad to see her go.
