MORE than 50 nursery school children dressed in gowns and hats to celebrate their graduation.

Northfleet Nursery School, in London Road, Gravesend, held their fourth annual graduation ceremony in front of proud parents on Tuesday July 14.

All of the children are due to start primary school in September, and it was the first time gowns and hats had been ordered for the occasion.

Headteacher Panna Nagar said: "It was a fantastic day, that's the only way I can describe it. The parents did not know we had arranged gowns and hats, they all gasped when they saw their child.

"Parents have said they will keep their graduation photo to put alongside future ones, it's something they will treasure for the rest of their lives."

There are 90 children at the school, rated as 'outstanding' by Ofsted last year.
