A GANG of thieves who attempted to rob a retired 67-year-old man on a mobility scooter are being hunted by police.

The three would be thieves struck as the victim, from Meopham, approached a junction opposite Sole Street, on Wrotham Road, at 1.15pm on Monday.

One of the gang put his arm around the victim's neck, pinning him to the scooter, and demanded money. The three fled as two men left a nearby builders merchants, but only after punching the victim in the face.

All three men were white and aged between 18 to 20-years-old. One was 5ft 11in and stocky with dark brown hair, blue eyes and pierced ears. He wore jeans, a yellow jumper and brown shoes and had a number of heavy gold rings on his hands.
