Police have scaled down a search after reports a young boy wearing ‘Superman’ pyjamas was spotted standing alone outside a pub

About 50 officers carried out a search following the claim that a youngster, who was about 5 or 6-years-old, was seen by a man driving past the Vigo Inn, on Gravesend Road, Vigo, at about 1.30am on Friday November 26.

They conducted an initial search, assisted by a helicopter and dogs on the ground, and house to house inquiries immediately and later followed up with a daylight search of the area.

Chief Inspector Jon Kirby said the sighting remained a mystery after no parents reported a child missing.
