SEVEN people have been released on police bail after being arrested on suspicion of drug trafficking.

The police raids followed the discovery by HM Revenue and Customs, UK Border Agency and Met Police officers of a boat loaded with 25 kilos of cannabis at Dover harbour last month.

Those arrested and bailed until September and October included two men aged 22 and 44 from Meopham, a 59-year-old man from Swanley and a 55-year-old man from Sidcup. A 43-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman were arrested on the boat on June 28.

As part of the investigation a 50-year-old customs officer was also arrested in Dover.
