Several injured as man drives car into Gravesend nightclub

A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a car drove into a Gravesend nightclub injuring several people.

Police were called to Blake’s in Queen Street at 11.47pm on Saturday and remain at the scene this morning,

The incident is not been being treated as terror related.

A police spokesperson said: “The driver of the vehicle who is believed to have been asked to leave the nightclub earlier that evening following an altercation has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and is currently in custody.

“A number of people have sustained injuries.”

The Serious Collision Investigation Unit and detectives from the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate are investigating the incident.

BBC Radio 1Xtra DJ Reece Parkinson, who was at the club, tweeted: “A guy who didn’t get let in the club just drove his car inside and nearly killed us all.”
