40-year-old stole cream worth £180 from Gravesend shop

A shoplifter has been jailed after stealing a vast quantity of suncream from a shop in Gravesend.

Shirley Walsh already had a suspended jail sentence when she stole cream worth £180 from the unnamed store in the Thamesgate Shopping Centre on Monday, February 16.

Magistrates whacked the 40-year-old with a 60-day prison term because of her previous offence.

Walsh, of Ordnance Terrace, Chatham, admitted shoplifting at Medway Magistrates’ Court.

She was also ordered to pay £85 costs and an £80 victim surcharge.
