A shopper filled his trolley with £400 of food in a Longfield supermarket and drove off without paying.
Michael Scott Smith, 52, of London Road, West Kingsdown admitting shoplifting at Dartford Magistrates Court on Monday 14.
He entered the store on November 28 and after filling the trolley he put the stolen goods into his car and drove off.
The trolley was later found, abandoned and empty, near Longfield railway station.
The crime was recorded on the store’s CCTV and when Smith returned for another shop on December 5 he was confronted by the manager.
Smith received a supervisory community order and was ordered to repay the supermarket chain £200 for their lost goods.
