The sister of a missing man not seen since November 5 has appealed for anyone who may have seen him to come forward.

Ali Akbah Shah, 36, was last seen at about 6.45pm after having spent the day doing painting work at the Gravesend mosque.

His sister, Parveen Syed, with whom he lives in Brook Road, Gravesend, realised something was wrong when Mr Shah did not return home after work.

“He usually comes back no later than half eight. I phoned him but there was no answer. In the morning I contacted the police.”

Later in the day on Tuesday 6 Ms Syed says she was able to get through to him on the phone.

“I spoke to him on Tuesday but his voice sounded really different as if he was very scared. I asked him where he was but he said his battery was low and he had to go,” she said.

“Nobody knows anything. How long is it going to take to find him? I feel devastated. I have tried looking for him. His entire luggage is in my house.”

Police said they were investigating.
