The Volunteer Your Skills and Make a Difference campaign urges helpers and trustees to boost the skills base in the voluntary sector.

A recent survey carried out by Kent Volunteers partnership found that the top three skill areas needed in the county are finance and accountancy, marketing and communications, and IT and technology. They are also looking for expertise in other areas, including business administration, sport and legal services. To find out more, visit www.kent.gov.uk

Epic 'carolathon'

THOSE looking for a Christmas bargain and live music should visit St Botolph's Church, in Northfleet, on Saturday

A Christmas fair featuring all kinds of bric-a-brac, handmade crafts and gift ideas will run from 11am to 2pm, accompanied by the church choir completing a "carolathon".

Anyone looking to donate items for the fair, or to set up a stall should contact Betty Banister on 01474 356 811.

Charity challenge

ARE you planning to run the London Marathon next year?

EllenorLions Hospice, in Coldharbour Road, Northfleet, is appealing to runners taking part in the event on April 25 to consider choosing it as their charity.
