Special train to travel through Gravesend and Dartford
PUBLISHED: 13:08 12 March 2018
A special train will be passing through Dartford and Gravesend for the first time at the end of the month.
Steam engine Stanier Black Five 45212 has previously headed trains along the famous Harry Potter Glenfinnan Viaduct, and will be heading a special trip from Kent with the Cathedrals Express.
On Thursday, March 22, the fabulous engine will be hauling passengers to Wiltshire, calling at stations across the county, including Gravesend at around 8.55am and Dartford at 9.10am.
Once in Wiltshire, passengers have a choice of three itineraries.
They can either choose to spend an afternoon in Salisbury, visit Stonehenge, or remain on the train to the market town of Sherborne.
The train is one of 842 Black Fives, as they became affectionately known, built for the London Midland and Scottish Railway.
It is one 18 members of the class to survive into preservation.
