A Wilmington Grammar School for Girls student has been selected for the England Under-16 squad

A year-11 student at a Wilmington school has been selected for the under-16 England football squad.

Ellie Perkins, a student at Wilmington Grammar School for Girls, was one of a select number of girls in the country picked for the squad.

The school has backed Miss Perkins in her sporting goals.

Chris Perkins from the FA said: “This is a fantastic achievement for Ellie as she is one of 30 girls nationwide to be selected.

“We are so grateful for the schools support and understanding.”
