Strood man arrested after restaurant fork attack

A Gravesend man was allegedly stabbed with a fork and had chemicals sprayed in his face at a restaurant on Sunday.

The 26-year-old was eating with his girlfriend at The Copperfield on Gravesend Road in Shorne at about 6pm when the incident happened.

He is receiving intensive treatment for burns at Medway Maritime Hospital.

Police are appealing for witnesses.

A 25-year-old man from Strood was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm on Monday.
