STUDENTS from Bexley College met Labour MP for Erith and Thamesmead Teresa Pearce on Tuesday.

The pupils filmed Ms Pearce talking about employment opportunities for young people and sharing some of her own career experiences, and will now produce a broadcast feature for their television channel BCTV.

She also took questions and talked to students about the importance of voting in the upcoming election.

College principal Danny Ridgeway said: “We have been supporting the campaign to ensure that more of our students are registered to vote, and this was a wonderful opportunity for them to ask a local MP why they should vote.”

Ms Pearce said: “The students were very engaged and asked very intelligent questions.”
