Swanley Milwall supporter rips flag from pole in mid game strop

A football fan has been charged with criminal damage after an assistant referee’s flag was ripped from its pole at a game between Millwall and Leicester City on January 1.

Ian Wilson, 30, of Wisteria Gardens, Swanley, was also charged with going into an area adjacent to play, under the Football Offences Act 1991.

Wilson is due to appear at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Thursday.
