A Swanley teenager has been arrested in connection with a robbery which left an elderly couple in hospital.

The 16-year-old was arrested this afternoon after the couple were badly beaten during a daytime attack in their Hextable home.

The man and woman, believed to be in their 80s, were taken to King’s College Hospital in London following the attack yesterday morning.

Police have released an appeal asking for helping in tracing a man send around the scene at the time of the incident.

Witnesses described him as a white man wearing a grey or dark-coloured hooded top and blue jeans.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crimestoppers, quoting Op Retail, on 0800 555 111.
