Swanley teen charged over brutal Hextable burglary

A Swanley teenager has been charged with aggravated burglary following an assault which left an elderly couple in hospital.

The 17-year-old was arrested on Thursday and remanded in custody on Saturday in his first court appearance.

The teenager, who cannot be named due to legal reasons, is due to appear before the youth court today. A 16-year-old arrested on Wednesday was released without charge the following day.

Following the incident around 9am the previous day in the Panters area of Hextable, an 84 year-old man and an 89 year-old woman suffered non-life threatening injuries and were taken to King’s College Hospital in London.
