Teacher strike to affect Dartford and Gravesham schools

PUBLISHED: 15:17 15 October 2013 | UPDATED: 15:18 15 October 2013

Today’s teacher strike is set to affect schools across Dartford and Gravesham.

The walkout has been organised by the National Union of Teachers (NUT) and the National Association of Schoolmasters’ Union of Women Teachers (NASUWT) in a dispute with the government over pay, pensions and working conditions.

Some schools will be shut completely while others will be partially open, depending on how many union members join the picket lines.

In total 17 schools across Dartford and Gravesham have announced they will be partially or fully closed.

Kent County Council stressed that this is not a definitive list and parents should check with schools today to see if they are open.

The closed schools are:

Anthony Roper Primary School

Chantry Community Academy

Dartford Grammar School for Girls

Hartley Primary Academy

Horton Kirby CofE School

Langafel CEP School

Maypole Primary School

Milestone School

Northfleet Technology College

Our Lady of Hartley Catholic Primary School

Rowhill School

Shears Green Infant School

Vigo Village School

West Hill Primary School
