A teenage boy has been charged with burglary following the theft of three watches and a laptop from a Gravesend home.

The items are reported to have been stolen from a home in Medhurst Crescent at some point between Tuesday May 22 and Tuesday May 29 2018.

A suitcase and various items of clothing were also taken.

Following enquiries officers identified the 16-year-old, who is from Gravesend, as a suspect and arrested him on Wednesday May 30.

He was subsequently charged with the offence and a further charge of a burglary with intent to steal.

This relates to a burglary at a home in Abbey Road on Thursday May 3 which saw no items stolen.

During the arrest he is also alleged to have assaulted an officer, which has resulted in a further charge of assaulting a constable in the execution of their duty.

The boy has been bailed to attend Medway and North Kent Youth Court on Tuesday June 26.
