Three teenage burglary suspects have been detained after a police pursuit in Maidstone in the early hours of Friday, May 11.

An 18-year-old from Gravesend, a 19-year-old from Orpington and a 17-year-old from Strood were arrested.

At around 12.30am police officers on patrol became suspicious of a vehicle that was being driven in Wat Tyler Way, Maidstone.

Following inquiries, they discovered the vehicle, a Vauxhall Vectra, had been reported stolen in a burglary in Kimberley Road, Gillingham.

Police say it failed to stop when requested to do so and a pursuit was authorised.

The pursuit came to an end in Royal Engineers Way following the successful and safe use of a stinger, which deflated the suspect vehicle’s tyres and brought the car to a stop.

All three teenagers remain in custody.
