A TEENAGE boy is suspected of robbing a betting shop.

The Ladbrokes, in Rochester Road, Gravesnd, was targeted by the youngster armed with a large pole or piece of wood, at 6.50pm on Tuesday January 5.

He rattled the door of the shop, which was locked, and when it was opened pushed his way in, covered his face with a balaclava and threatened the two members of staff. He then walked behind the counter and emptied the contents of the till into a black bag before leaving. Both members of staff were unharmed. Detective Constable Geoff McCreery said: "I would particularly like to speak to two people who were inside the shop shortly before the robbery. They are both white, slim men in their late teens. One of them left the shop to take a phone call. It is possible that they may have vital evidence which could help."

The robber is white, slim, aged around 16 or 17 and 5ft 5in. He was wearing dark tracksuit trousers, a black Nike anorak and a black balaclava and gloves. Contact DC McCreery on 01474 366091.
