The Hop Farm Festival, in Paddock Wood, has managed to secure an exclusive performance from Irish alt-rockers My Bloody Valentine this July.
Also on the bill is the elusive Rodriguez, who was the subject of the 2013 Oscar-winning documentary, Searching for Sugar Man.
The festival was marred by financial losses last year and although this year has are plenty of well-known acts such as The Horrors, Jimmy Cliff, The Cribs, First Aid Kit, Martha Wainwright and Edwyn Collins, it has been toned down from previous summers when it attracted the likes of Bob Dylan, Prince and Neil Young.
Referring to the changes, festival owner Vince Power said: “Last year was tough for me, as it has been across the board for the festival market. I wanted to keep the festival going, but I’ve had to make changes for it to continue.
“I am pleased to announce the sixth Hop Farm line up this year, which includes headliners My Bloody Valentine, exclusive to the Hop Farm Festival, off the back of their much awaited new album. Plus I’m excited to add international folk legend Rodriguez to the bill.”
The festival will have a 10,000 capacity, with three stages as well as a fun fair and children’s area.
Hop Farm takes place on July 5/6 at Paddock Wood. For the full line-up and ticket options see www.hopfarmfestival.com//tickets/online
