Thousands take part in world record attempt at Bluewater

Thousands of children flocked to take part in a world record attempt for the most amount of people contributing to a plastic brick sculpture.

A total of 2,451 people at Bluewater added plastic bricks bringing the final nationwide tally to 18,464.

The sculpture is a new character in the upcoming Cartoon Network series Ben 10.

It took more than 500 hours to complete, is made up of 250,000 bricks and weighs half a tonne.

Following its finale at Bluewater singer Stacey Soloman will place the final brick today (Thursday) at Big Ben.
