Three arrested in connection with shooting in Darenth as police confirm two people from Erith and Folkestone have been shot

Three people have now been arrested following investigations into a shooting in Darenth yesterday.

Armed officers were called to Hill Rise at 7.12pm to a report that gunshots had been heard.

It has now been confirmed that two men were shot.

A police spokesperson said: “A 26-year-old man from Erith sustained a gunshot wound and had made his own way to hospital.

“He has since been discharged from hospital and was arrested in connection with the incident this morning.

“We received another report today at 8.23am that a Folkestone man with a gunshot wound was also taken to a local hospital.

“The 20-year-old has been arrested on suspicion of possessing a gun with intent.

“Enquiries are ongoing as to whether this may be linked to the incident in Darenth.”

Police believe that those involved are known to each other.

A 30-year-old man, also from Erith, was arrested in London at 5.15am this morning on suspicion on possession of a gun with intent.

All men remain in custody.

Police are still in Hill Rise while investigations continue.
