Consumers could save money by signing up to the latest round of the deal

Residents have until May 16 to register for a deal that could save them money on their energy bills.

Dartford residents who signed up to the last round of the scheme could be set to save an average of £357.49 a year on their gas and electricity bills.

The Energy Deal is a collective switching campaign that involves consumers getting together to secure a competitive agreement with suppliers.

After the latest round closes, energy suppliers will be invited to compete with their best offer at an energy auction on Tuesday, May 17.

Residents will be sent a personalised offer showing the winning tariff, which they can then decide whether they want to accept.

Those needing help to register can visit a drop-in session on Wednesday, May 11 at The Meeting Place in the Orchards Shopping Centre between 3.30pm and 4.30pm. They will need to bring their latest bills and energy statement with them.
