The funeral service of Darren Lacey who died when the tug he was in sank in the Thames is to take place on Friday.

Mr Lacey, 40, of Lower Range Road, Gravesend, died when the Chiefton capsized at Convoys Wharf in Greenwich on August 12. His body was recovered after a search lasting several days.

The boat was lifted into a barge and sent Chatham over the weekend but is ‘unlikely’ to be brought back into service, according to experts.

Investigators are continuing to attempt to piece together what happened.
