ENERGY-saving advice is to be offered at an event showcasing state-of-the-art technology.

Information will be available on a range of technologies, including solar hot water, solar electricity, heat pumps, biomass and wind power, at Shorne Wood Country Park on Sunday, September 6, from 10am to 4pm.

The event, being staged by the Energy Saving Trust, is supported by Gravesham Borough Council, Dartford Borough Council and Medway Council. It will show visitors what they can do in their homes to reduce carbon emissions and be more self-reliant with energy production.

Mike Bundy, of the Energy Saving Trust, said: "We wanted to offer the opportunity for visitors to go to one location and get information on low- carbon technologies. There are government and local authority grant-funded schemes for everyone. We can advise on what funding is available for which technology."

For more information on renewable energy and energy saving in the home, contact the Energy Saving Trust advice centre on 0800 512 012.
