Two men charged with cannabis offences in Northfleet

Two men have been charged with cannabis offences in Northfleet.

At 10.27am on Friday June 1, Kent Police attended Mitchell Avenue after initially receiving a report that a property was being burgled.

Officers at the scene then became suspicious of a neighbouring property which they believed was being used to grow cannabis.

A search of the premises uncovered a number of cannabis plants and two men were arrested in connection with this.

Officers then presented the case to the Crown Prosecution Service, who authorised the following charges:

·Xhovan Pepaj, 21, of no fixed address, has been charged with being concerned in a production of cannabis.

·Salvator Kola, 44, of Mitchell Avenue in Northfleet, has been charged with producing cannabis.

Both were remanded in custody to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Saturday June 2.

At this hearing they were both remanded in custody and will appear at Maidstone Crown Court on Friday June 29.
