Two teenagers have been arrested after a garage was destroyed in a fire in Barr Road.

Officers attended after seeing a large cloud of smoke rising from the area on Saturday, March 24, and arrived to see the garage and a car parked inside it on fire.

The owner of the home attached to the garage, a man in his 80s, was taken to safety.

Following enquiries, two teenagers from Gravesend, an 18-year-old man and a 16-year-old boy, have been arrested on suspicion of arson.

They have both been released under investigation.
